The results of this year’s stem cell donor recruitment day are in! 129 people registered using our event code, meaning that GenDx donates €4.515, to Matchis.
A big thank you to everyone who contributed to this year’s edition. Whether you helped with promoting the event, helped spreading awareness on the topic, or volunteered during the event. Together, we reached our goal, which was to motivate as many young, healthy people as possible to join the stem cell donor registry.
We look forward to continuing our collaboration with the Matchis foundation next year. In 2023, the event will again take place in the week of the world marrow donor day.
In the week preceding the World Marrow Donor Day, GenDx is organizing an annual Stem Cell Donor Recruitment Day. This initiative is established in cooperation with Matchis, the Dutch center for stem cell donors, and in line with GenDx’s mission to improve the quality of life and survival of transplant patients. Our main aim is to motivate as many young, fit people to register as a potential stem cell donor.
This year, the event takes place on Thursday 15 September 2022 at various locations, mainly at Utrecht Science Park, but also in Leiden (LUMC).

If you register using our event code ‘GENDX22’, GenDx will support the Matchis Foundation financially by covering the costs they make for processing your registration, i.e. 35 euros. The code is valid from 12 – 23 September, surrounding our annual Stem Cell Donor Recruitment Day.
