This year, we celebrate 20 years of GenDx and two decades of dedication to transplant diagnostics. What began as a small team of scientists with a shared vision has grown into a globally recognized leader, driven by innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to improving the quality of life and survival of transplant patients.
The beginning
On January 1st, 2004, Erik Rozemuller and Wietse Mulder began shaping Genome Diagnostics. After a year of planning, GenDx was officially established on March 1st, 2005. We started as a small team of dedicated scientists working to develop better tools for high-resolution HLA typing. From the beginning, collaboration and education were as important to us as innovation. We knew that true progress in transplantation wouldn’t come from technology alone but also from sharing knowledge with the healthcare professionals who rely on it every day.
Growing with purpose
Over the years, GenDx has evolved, but our core mission has remained the same. In 2013, we introduced NGSgo reagents and NGSengine software, making high-resolution sequencing for HLA typing more accessible to labs worldwide. As our expertise grew, we expanded our focus to include chimerism monitoring with NGStrack and TRKengine, helping transplant teams detect complications earlier.
In 2022, we became part of Eurobio Scientific, a step that allowed us to strengthen our impact globally while remaining true to our values. Today, we are proud to be part of a broader network of diagnostics specialists, with affiliates across Europe and other parts of the world.
A global leader in transplant diagnostics
GenDx is one of the top tier companies in transplant diagnostics worldwide, recognized for our commitment to research, education, and high-quality solutions. We have grown into a team of over 110 colleagues from 20 different nationalities, bringing diverse perspectives and expertise to our work. This would not be possible without the support and commitment from our customers and partners. Today, we collaborate with 40 distributors worldwide and are able to reach hospitals and research centres around the globe.
